In 2015 the album “AWAKENING” was recorded at The Park Tavern in Macclesfield, UK, a great place for excellent beer and good company. It was recorded live by Jake Evans (“Bad Lieutenant“) and post-produced by us both at The BIG Red Studio.
Review by Gig Promoter, Howard Beaumont:
At a ‘sold out’ Park tavern, he [John] recorded his debut album “Awakening” in front of a lively audience who completely engaged with an awe inspiring, two and a half hour, twenty track set demanding a couple of encores for good measure.

Performing a mixture of covers with a appreciative nod to local musicians The Virgin Marys’ with their song “Dead man’s shoes” and Jake Evans’ epic stadium anthem “Easy on my Soul”, John’s real forté became as obvious as his wild appearance in the animated performances of his own material.
He led us walking, dancing, singing, drinking and flying with him through a beautifully realised musical landscape in “Talk to Me” and then he took us on a personal journey, by bus, in “Changeable Skies”. He warned against inward fascination with “Pride. From the dark and moody “Demons” he moved effortlessly through an innocent youthful, unrequited love affair with “Grace” before questioning what makes a life in “Prayers” and finally dissolving into a glass of Whisky with the soul felt blues of “Mandie”.
Nice one Howard!
